Ferrari: The Sports and Gran Turismo Cars
Published in Hardcover by W.W. Norton & Company (June, 1991)
Authors: Warren W. Fitzgerald and Jonathan Thompson
Average review score:

This is THE classic Ferrari book
This book contains the entire history of Ferrari up until the mid-70s. If you are a Ferrari enthusiast of the older cars this is a required book on your shelf. The book contains hundreds of black and white photos as well as several color fold-outs. ISBN 0878800190 is the third revised and enlarged edition of the original Ferrari classic. Note that there is a fourth revised edition. If you are a collector I highly suggest getting a 1st edition and a 4th edition for the comprehensive extra information.

Fiddling for Beginners Book with CD
Published in Spiral-bound by Captain Fiddle Pubns (12 August, 1998)
Author: Ryan, J Thomson
Average review score:

It got me fiddling!
Great book! And this one really is for beginners. I brought zero musical training to this endevour (and just about that much natural ability), but within a few days I was sawing away at "Boil Them Cabbages Down," drone and all. I've worked through the other melodies with equal success, my family's impressed, and I'm jazzed. I just wish there was a Volume II! The tips for maintaining a fiddle, tuning it, practicing, learning to play by ear-all very helpful.

Film Art
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill Humanities/Social Sciences/Languages (January, 2000)
Authors: David Bordwell and Kristen Thompson
Average review score:

Excellent Book for Beginning Media/Cinema Studies Students
Having read other articles and books by Bordwell in the past, I was not quite sure I even wanted to read the fifth edition I received a few years ago. Bordwell and Thompson are a great team, and they provide plenty of examples for each concept with a writing style which is informative without being dense.

This sixth edition improves upon the fifth edition, primarily by updating many examples to reflect more recent films. Especially interesting is the array of color plates at the center of the book, which helps to make related examples even more vivid.

I am currently using the sixth edition of Film Art in an online class, and the students also seem to really appreciate it - moreso than when I was teaching with the fifth edition several years ago. I am actually looking forward to a seventh edition in the future.

Finding Your Own Spiritual Path: An Everyday Guidebook
Published in Paperback by Hazelden Information Education (01 September, 1994)
Author: Peg Thompson
Average review score:

A useful spiritual guidebook for today's seekers.
Peg Thompson has given us a real gem: a book to use, not just to read. She avoids sentimentality and sectarianism, choosing instead to help the reader peel away his or her own layers of hurt, fear, pain, futility, and anguish in seeking a uniquely personal spiritual life. Her journaling exercises and questions are keen and helpful. Her "Passageways" in each chapter are drawn from many different meditation sources. The book draws on the varied experiences of a diverse group of people, showing that spirituality is truly multi-layered, multi-colored. This is a book for those of us who need a way to live spiritually but often feel frustrated and pained by our "efforts" or uncertain about how to go about it. No judgements are made nor are any doctrines taught within its pages, and Thompson even shares with us her own frustrations, joys, triumphs, and setbacks in living spiritually. Read it, use it, grow with it.

Fireworks: The Lost Writings
Published in Paperback by Warner Books (August, 1989)
Authors: Jim Thompson, Robert Polito, and Michael McCauley
Average review score:

Terrific collection of short stories
This is a must for every Jim Thompson fan. Some of the stories are biographical, which will give the reader more insight into the man. Other stories are just terrific examples of crime noir.

This World and Then the Fireworks is included as kind of an unfinished novella, and it is really something. Very twisted, even for Jim Thompson.
